Ralph: I'm not enjoying Halloween like I used to.
Knock knock knock
Ralph: So many of the kids seem rude and greedy this year!
Girl: Trick or treat, please!
Ralph: It's all yours!
For once, Ralph and I agree. I would have done the same thing! Polite children are a rarity these days. I think I only got about 4 thank you’s last year but it matters not. I love passing out Halloween candy and seeing all the little goblins. I am so looking forward to this evening!
reminds me of a few years ago, I was just going in at 9:30 pm with a big bowl of candy. I did not get as many treaters that year and it was very slow. Just then a man and a little girl came around the corner to my house seeing that I was still outside. The father had to work late and wanted to keep his promise to his daughter. she was about 6 years old. I thought it was great that the father kept his promise so I gave her all the candy that was in the bowl.
I am glad I seen this today, it brought back a wonderful memory…
Back when I had Cuddles, I used to give full size chocolate bars, so we’d get more visitors. The bird was SOO delighted to have so many people coming to the door; when she saw the first one coming down the street, she was dancing up and down. (Of course she thought they came just to see her, and everyone made a fuss over her, so it was all good).
It’s not that much fun for me now (especially as all the costumes are just purchased). I’ll be putting on my black velvet dress (even though we will be over 90 during the day) with a really oversized straw witch hat (my mother had bought it in red somewhere in S America, but I painted it black). 30"dia. and 2’ tall, on my little 5’ body will be good. I think I’ll try to get a neighbor to snap my photo in it.
We’ve had about 20 kids total over the last 4 years so I think the porch light will stay off tonight. There are kids in the neighborhood, but they go someplace else.

I can not believe Ralph gave all his candy away; I wonder where he hid the second bag.
