Norman: Stu, I'm torn between two girls... Echo is nice to me. Wendy is not. Echo makes me feel good about myself. Wendy does not. Stu: What is it about Wendy that you like? Norman: She has a beautiful smile. Stu: Really? Norman: I saw it once when she ran over my foot.

He’ll get Wendy. That’s just how it goes.

He will always want Wendy – Echo will wait around for too long and finally decide on someone else – That is how it always happens.

“Yes, I do like Echo; but my real crush is on Wendy! Kind of like Archie liking Betty, sure; but the crush of his life is Veronica; regardless of all the mean things she does to him!”

He likes Echo because she’s a nice person, she’s a good friend and she’d no doubt be a good girlfriend/wife but he’s attracted to Wendy. He could pick Echo and would probably grow to love her but he might never forget Wendy. Much better if you can fall for a person who you’re both attracted to and is a nice person

Wendy reminds him of his mother- abusive, rude, and self-centered. And, from the example of how she treats his father, he thinks that is the normal show of love.
