We always went to the beach with loose clothing or covers over our suits. We did carry a change of clothes for the return trip however. We were not allowed back in the car in sandy, wet swimsuits.
If they were that keen to get right to it from the airport and before checking into the hotel, they should’ve worn their swimwear under their travel clothes.

I don’t remember there being any changing stalls on any of the beaches in Hawaii – Oahu anyway.
