Hope springs eternal

Ralph shoulda told the little guy about that famous thoroughbred, Beetle Bomb. That relentless horse came back from being way behind to win the race - as related by Spike Jones many years ago. "…at 20 to 1…and in last place by ten lengths…is Beetle Bomb…and here they come down the stretch towards the wire…and the winner is -———-Beetle Bomb!"

I thought the family were fans of the NL-leading Dodgers.

I didn’t know the Drabbles lived in Cincinnati.

Do they still play double headers? I thought they ended that a few years ago. Too tough on the new generation of players.

And then on September 30th will come the old phrase “Wait Until Next Year!”

I am a Red Sox fan and a Rockies fan. Oh well ….

My team, the Pirates, are 26.5 games behind 1st place St Louis with 28 games remaining. We still have a shot!

WRONG. The last regular season games are October 5th. Then comes WAY TOO MANY playoff games. (Remember when the World Series was “The Boys of October”? Now, the series doesn’t START until October 28th, and goes well into November. It’s REDICULOUS!)

If it wasn’t for TBS and one of the main stations airing a game now and then, there wouldn’t be any baseball on TV. YEARS AGO, we had a local channel that showed almost every game. Then, MLB got greedy and stopped that. I don’t know when the last time I watch “my team” play.
