I like lizards, but am afraid to touch most of them. They look so mean! I can touch the sweet-looing ones….. Snakes? No problem. I’m so weird.

For a while we lived near a desert. Our dachshund would chase lizards and take off their tails. We had a lots of bobbed tailed lizards in the backyard.

Time to call in the neighborhood roadrunner. They love to hunt, kill and eat any kind of reptile (they’re even immune to rattlesnake venom).

We have small lizards in Central Florida. The cats love them both to chase & eat. I’ll watch the outside cats. They eat the whole lizard from head to tail. The only “remains” are a few drops of blood. Don’t know how they would react to a larger one.

Let lazy leaping lizards lie so they can catch a fly — or nab a big black bug that’s crawling on the rug.

Lizards get into our house with some frequency. Big strong husband refuses to touch ‘em. I must wrangle.

When I was a kid I came home from school to see my mom on a chair yelling at one of our cats. Said cat had what would soon be just the tail of a lizard in his mouth. The rest of the lizard had run under our fish aquarium. It was so funny at the time. I was able to shoo the little guy outside and mom came down off the chair. Years later (in a different state) we were on the driveway (we lived in a house the was centered on 10 acres, so the driveway was long and muddy. Mom saw something in the road. It wound up being a huge toad. Again she was freaked out. The woman grew up at the end of the Great Depression. We ALWAYS had animals. At the time with the frog we had actually moved to a farm (hence the 10 acres). Her fear of reptiles was weird. I personally love them. My issues are with roaches. {shudder} Ten foot snake? No problem. Tarantula? Cool. Inch long roach? Commence shrieking and shaking.
