My local Walmart still uses them. I try and stop and talk to them a little.

If nothing else, the cape will prevent his back from getting cold.

I hold my receipt out as a sign of honesty and the only time I have been checked is when I bought a TV, We had a nice chat about how many people try to steal TV’s these days.

I like the new Sam’s Club exit scanners. As long as you have your items in a cart you get to just breeze on through the checker. Problem is when you carry out your items, the scanners can’t scan you so the checker has to stop you to do their thing.

Sometimes I’ll have two orders at Costco resulting in two different receipts. I’ll palm the lessor of the two and see if the check-out person catches it. If they do, I smile, hand them the receipt and say," You passed the test." They usually grin and say thanks.

Years ago, after shopping for supplies for my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop weekend campout I was stopped by the receipt checker at Sam’s Club. He upended everything I had neatly boxed and when finished waved me on. I told him I wasn’t leaving until he had re-boxed everything neatly and opened every egg carton to check for any damage he may have caused. He had to call another receipt checker over while he did that. The next time I shopped there I saw him point me out to another employee and when I went to leave, they waved me through without checking my receipt. It pays to make people accountable even in their own job.

I love going to stores that assume I am a criminal.

We dropped Costco… Member fee was ridiculous, and if there’s one thing I really hated was having to wait in another line, after I already waited in the checkout line…

I’m sure the folks waiting in line don’t share your enthusiasm.

I’ve never had anyone check my receipt as I’m leaving. I never shop at Bulk clubs, too far away and only 2 people to feed.

We visited Costco while we were in Paris last year and they don’t have the paper receipts anymore. Instead they scan your card and use an electronic tablet to review your items.

If I saw a store employee like that, I would think of going somewhere else.
