If “Mt. Smashmore” is supposed to be a national monument, I think it is unfair to restrict the lineup to just four Yankees. Hank Aaron and Albert Pujols should definitely have been included.
DiMaggio (where have you gone, Joe) wasn’t the HR hitter of these others, but has the hitting record that will probably never be broken. Pitchers now are too good. And Mantle still holds, I believe, two separate career HR records.
