If the algorithms for simulated baseball get any better, it won’t be necessary to play the games. If a baseball game was so good, purely as a sport, people would be watching reruns of the best games. The major impetus is advertising and gambling … and advertising about places you can go to gamble. :)

As poorly as some umpires are with knowing the strike zone I wouldn’t be surprised to see this happening too.

Don’t give the MLB any more ideas. They’re already ruining the game with seven inning double headers and a base runner on second in extra innings.

They had a softball league in Minnesota that called you out if you didn’t swing at a good pitch…sped up the game considerably
