What really makes Abby’s situation so trying too is that there’s technically no right or wrong solution—either attending the conference or attending the play both had their upsides and their downsides, and there always would’ve been guilt at missing one or the other. It’s easy for us to say to put family first, but at the same time, the career also helps support the family, so the lines are blurred.
Did Abby make the right choice prioritizing the conference? I don’t think she’ll ever know for certain herself.
As Len noted before though, it says a lot about Abby that she’s letting the matter bug her so much. It’s a situation she’s not taking lightly at all.
