Apparently your hubby is projecting “His” inner yearnings….Midnight prowling around perhaps?

Simple answer: Abby changes the litter box.

Our oldest cat hasn’t been outside in over 10 years, she doesn’t seem to miss it

The 2 big boys have always been indoor, they don’t show any desire to go

The kitten is a humane society rescue, he’s so happy with his new home and family I don’t think he cares if he ever sees out again

I got my latest cat as a stray…..tried the keeping him in thing & got new furniture, blinds & a coffee table. So he comes & goes….mostly in our fenced in 3 acres…with our German Shepherd

I’ve had both, indoor and outdoor. If you make the decision when there young I don’t think there is any difference. They “go with the flow” so to speak.

I mean, they both have points, and so it frustrates me a bit that Len’s stance on the matter is just getting dismissed out of hand simply because it’s not the preferred choice between Abby and now the vet.

Of course, the vet, being a vet, does carry a bit more authority, being the presumed expert and all. But still.

Also, don’t they have two cats? Whatever happened to the second one, anyway?

Yeah, betcha Len also doesn’t want him to get neutered. “Let him be a tomcat and roam free!”

Like my then-boyfriend who didn’t want to get our Siamese male fixed. Cat lasted two years.

it just takes common sense if you have any. we had 2 cats that liked to go outside. we rescued them from the outside. Our tomcat we were able to train to walk on a harness and leash and we walked him so he could get some fresh air and exercise. the other was like my husbands dog and followed him everywhere he went. she was never out of his sight.

I inherited an indoor only cat that has now been living some of each day outside (unless the weather is bad) for the last ten years. He learned to get out when the other cats went in or out. I tried to keep the “herd” in, but I’m getting to the point I can not chase or stop them fast enough to matter!
