Beyond that, I might make note of what kind of hand soap they have at the sink, if there’s any at all, since I habitually wash my hands afterwards (which I’m sure many wouldn’t complain to me doing, but still).
As a man, I agree with Carl, above. The location of the commode and the toilet paper is of prime concern (and, if there are “kids” in the house, how the door locks) – all else is non-essential “frou-frou”.
“Muddy” brings up another point. My mother used to hang “Guest Towels” as well – I quickly learned that towels with ANY embroidery on them WEREN’T REALLY TOWELS! Fortunately, my wife doesn’t believe in such ridiculous bathroom fixtures, either – one of us hangs clean towels when needed and if the “guests” don’t want to use them, there’s always the paper roll by the stool.

I notice if there is toilet paper; everything else is unimportant.

Usually, for me, it’s “ah, there’s the toilet.”

In Canada, essentials are not taxable. Toilet paper is taxable. Are they saying that toilet paper is not essential? YUCK !!!!!

Only odd feature of mine is that I have a bidet attached to my commode.
