My, what an evil look on panel 3. And she definitely knows waaay too many Topsider secrets. Since Linda is still conscious, won’t she become a monster instead of an anthro?
It seems Flask here is being foolhardy And it’s time to skedaddle: she’s tardy Since mutation’s infliction Is immune to prediction What did Flask just invite to this party? =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum
Somehow I’m thinking that this design flaw might have been what caused Flask to change originally? Especially if she could “probably count the number of times it has failed in the field on the fingers of one hand.”
Linda is awake, but paralyzed. Now we’ll see if Cooper’s theory of being awake (or partially awake) while changing is correct.
Flask looks crazier and crazier with every new panel!

If you can’t pay with PayPal, send payment to:Aaron NeatheryPO Box 920558Houston, TX 77292And, just so you know, I’m completely open to donations. The cat and mouse that live in my head will thank you. :-)
I agree with all of you who are saying that Flask is speaking from Topsider experience. The reason she’s such an angry person is that she was once a Topsider and the design flaw caused her to change into an Anthro.
There’s a fine line between genius and insanity and Flask has both feet firmly planted in psycholand. Based on everything we know, or think we know, so far, there is no apparent productive or mission driven purpose here. If this was her intent all along she should have simply blasted Linda and moved on. This seems to be nothing but sadistic.
Paul, Flask: the converted are often the most adamant, the most fanatical, the most dedicated. And Paul started out against Christianity, as many suspect that Flask was once a topsider.
Remember, Flask originally thought Linda was toast. It was only after she smoked Doug that this new avenue of exploration (a stunned and helpless victim) presented itself.
Yeah, but why not just kill her, if all you’re going to do is create a monster that you’ll probably have to kill anyway. Flask is more pragmatic than to take that route. She has a purpose in mind for Linda.
Flask seems to have a disproportionate sense of justice and fairness. She seems to think anyone and everyone she deems culpable should pay dearly for what happened to her and/or someone she cared about (hmm…where is Petey by the way).
I just had a thought. Presuming Cooper was right about the “rules” of mutation, even though Blackie knows a lot of stuff, it’s possible she doesn’t know this is going to create a nightmare monster instead of an anthro. I have the feeling someone is in for a big damn surprise.
If Flask was a suit failure mutation it must have happened when she was asleep, or else she’d have mutated into something (more) horrible. Perhaps she was sleeping out in the wild and rolled over, causing a failure at the earpiece? (Don’t knock it, my mum broke a cordless phone by rolling over while using it!)

Um… please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this is an incredibly stupid idea. What happens if Linda changes into Godzilla?

Well… she IS a cat. And cats like to sadistically toy with their victims.

1st panel sweetness for Philomena Flask….
I’m liking her more and more!

Now she’s applying a thumbscrew.

…Maybe Flask is like Paul in the Bible…a convert on a mission…
Francis362003 about 13 years ago
I think Flask has a past that’s more that any one thinks. A story worth need of telling soon.

I think we’re juuuust about to get some of that story after this scene is over. In a week or two. As Aaron likes to make us dance. :)

Guess I was wrong, she was playing with her.
crystalwizard about 13 years ago
and why didn’t she do this with Doug, too? She COULD have stunned him, then mutated both of them..So much for her “we don’t take prisoners” nonsense.

Now they potentially have a useful ally. She can’t go back, for sure. Now it’s “join or die”. Even her old blaster may not work, once she’s mutated.

Just remember who “Poor Linda” really is.

So, who found the weak point in Flask’s suit? We know she’s a former topsider, via Petey.
vburke about 13 years ago
Called it :). Now we get to find out if Cooper knows what he’s talking about. If he’s right, they’re going to be glad they’ve got the guns.

Could have been an accident. A fall, exploding transporter, etc.

I love Flask she is such a mystery and she is just like the topsiders, she has become that which she dispises
