Man, it looks like Holly’s had quite a bit of faith shaken from all this. Poor girls are a wreck! Wally! Come reunite with her! Quickly! (whistles for him)
It looks like she grew whiskers? Couldn’t the press waited until they were cleaned up and “shaved”? That comment about topside practice , Aaron did she know from her own histery or did Linda tell her. They had a lot of time to discuss before, now and now what?Blessed Be
Oh No! It has completely broken Holly’s spirit! She was always a bright spot in everyone’s day. Never had a bad word to say. This makes me sad, for her. I hope Wally get’s up there and brings her back to her regular mental health. If she were my daughter, I would make her favorite foods, help her groom herself, and if Wally is MIA, I would go find him and tell him how much she needs him right now. I just hope he didn’t take off for the topside, because that wouldn’t speak well for his mental health either. I hope he is there in a few minutes! (Monday)
Fortunately, it looks like I was wrong regarding Jake’s plans to “sacrifice” a Milk Trio or two to make his battle against the HC and the rats look more convincing…
Since she’s a mouse, it is normal for her to have whiskers. That wouldn’t mean anything. I never noticed them before, but they may have been there. When a rat looks at something new, All it’s whiskers become more , like all whiskers.
Maude … “Our treatment was right out of the TopSider Handbook.Me: Really, Maude? How is it that you had access to your precious *”Topsider Handbook?"*And Holly. Those bags under your eyes resemble those of Aaron Marx when he materialized. Did you spend a lot of time with Marx, informing in regards to Jacob as opposed to Octavius, for the better candidate to be Maximum Supreme Leader of NeoBeginningTown? And just why are Jacob’s special talents going to come in handy. Jacob wanted people to embrace their mutanity. Rabbits are known for burrowing and procreating. I assume most of the adults had a general grounding in basic biology, so Jacob’s special skills as a rabbit could be burrowing.Perhaps Endtowners High Council was hijacked by TopSiders, and it is time for the residents to hit new exits. If someone had morphed into a Roadrunner, he could just paint an exit and pull it in after him. JusRamblin
I think I’m starting to get it. Aaron Marx foresaw Endtown would become politically polarised into two warring factions that would eventually tear the community apart. He had to remove that polarity by permanently removing its two main drivers. Allgood is eliminated. Jackrabbit will follow. Both have to die.Notice that Aaron Marx wear white gloves.
Maybe the reason Wally isn’t there is that he can’t push his way through the crowd. Dotty or Philo should have realized the photo op value of having him waiting at the elevator for her. And, given that the house still isn’t cleaned up after the rats, it’s going to make for a rough homecoming…
I still say this is a great time to look into the whole “Thunderdome” judicial system. It’s fast, it doesn’t needlessly torture the defense with inhumane prison conditions (that’s the job of their opponent), and it means we can get rid of all the lawyers. See, everyone wins!
Dadof3 (from yesterday): “Maybe these are the folks who were suposed to be on the HC?”I’m still trying to figure out how Jake explained to Endtown how Allgood simply gave up and went home. That’s not very satisfying or cathartic. And now, we’re being told that the conditions the Milk 3 were exposed to were “horrific”… that just puts more pressure towards punishing the HC and the rats. Jake can try to spin it so the rats were just following orders, as further justification that the HC must be dismantled and permanently abandoned, but there has to be answers regarding “who Allgood put on the HC” and “how they could have gotten so far out of hand”. I don’t think anyone wants to be identified as “the people that were supposed to be on the HC for the last 2 months”. The ones in the reception could have been toasting their own death warrants…
Some folks don’t handle confinement well. Holly is a good example. The stress of a prisoner like that is hell on earth. Think of the ones in the Hanoi Hilton. They were not held like prisoners who commit petty crimes. They were held like a POW in very harsh conditions. Remember they were held up in Security not at the local jail down below. The Rats would never lay a hand on them so she is not beaten up. Her spirit and will has been beaten down. The stress of the month just tore Holly up.Her condition is what one would see happen. That is why she would never survive long topside hiding everyday from the Topsiders searching. Holly does not handle stress well.Where’s Wally? If he did not run to her there. He is sitting beside the radio like before feeling lost and alone. Personally I feel this is really going to strain their relationship to a new level. Her first words on seeing him: “Where the Hell were you???”Just guessing.
As far as Maude’s comment about the “Topsider Handbook”, I guess she’s just using that phrase for cruel and inhumane treatment. My understanding is that Topsiders don’t generally keep mutant prisoners (Flask and Tyhoid Marys excluded) they either dust them or yank their heads off for use in their machinery. As far as Holly is concerned, its stress of being confined under inhumane conditions and having her faith in Endtown and its people shattered. Her reactions to things are going to be different I think.
“As far as Holly is concerned, its stress of being confined under inhumane conditions and having her faith in Endtown and its people shattered.”It doesn’t help that Linda and Maude were the only reasons she was locked up…
This has been a long time coming. See Aug 11, 2011. Tread carefully Aaron, there are many others outside of Endtown who have been hoping for this fine lady’s safe return…
I wonder if the evidence about how Jack rigged the HC is going to be his own downfall, thus removing him from his vaunted position.. he think he won, but may have written his own death warrant in the process.
This is one of those days I REALLY wish we could have a second installment. The thought of leaving off with Holly in the shape she’s in just just downright unpalatable.
I’m starting to truly dislike AM. His letting the Milk Three suffer the way they did makes me wonder where his heart lies.
Allgood got his and I believe Jacob will soon get his too. Uhfortunately, Velda will probably get away unscathed as she stayed in the shadows pretty much throughout, as far as the citizen’s of Endtown are concerned.
Finder10030,To be fair, I don’t think Aaron Marx likes Aaron Marx too well. If I can judge by his facial expressions (a dangerous thing when one has Aspergers) he feels troubled and unhappy. He seems to be convinced that he is doing the best he can for the good of Endtown, but he can’t stand the price tag — the deaths in the riot, the treatment of the Milk three ect… In my mind that makes him a much better person than Jake, who doesn’t seem to be bothered by the people harmed by his scheme. As I said before, I’m starting to like this new version of Aaron Marx.
I have a concern.Coyoty:I know who they were held by but the treatment was POW like not criminal. Think of Gitmo for a point of view. That would explain the stress. The part I am waiting for is when Holly gets home all worn out and sees her house torn to shreds and Wally sitting the corner on his hands going “Hi Honey, busy day. Oh the house needs cleaning.” (funny bit added)The point is thisOne: Wally is not there to greet her and help her home at least not right now maybe Monday???Two: If he has not fixed, cleaned up, got that couch out of the window he will have the most angry mouse on his hands he will ever know. You women on this understand. If she finds him sitting there just pining away or in a bar drinking and doing nothing of a month to fix her house Holly is going to explode. We may have our next story line coming.
Veteran,I don’t think it was entirely Allgood’s doing, though almost everybody in the town thinks its his. My understanding is that Jake and his minions helped set this up. Velda probably presented Allgood with the council packing plan. We know she handed him the polls showing that people backed his views and she talked him away from backing down when it occurred to Allgood that he didn’t have as much support as he assumed. The arrests and detention facilities were handled either by Velda or by Marx as the pseudo high council.Still, Allgood should have known better. He should have rejected any plan that involved the arrest and detention of innocent people. He should have shown more interest in the ladies conditions, when he saw how tired Holly looked, he should have asked how she was or something. The well deserved earful he would have gotten might have been a wake up call. Allgood should have been more thoughtful in his questioning. His lack of consideration towards Holly was rude and his insulting the memory of Maude’s husband was just WRONG. I’m not going to say that he deserved to be strung up for all that but Octavius Allgood was not entirely innocent in this matter. He became so passionate about his cause that it blinded him to what he was actually doing, and he paid the price.
Why isn’t Wally there in the crowd? It was an expected event, considering the size of the crowd.I hope that Wally wasn’t one who was killed. Or that he gave up. Or that the if topsiders were involved, that he wasn’t kidnapped.I would have expected to see him there. When did we see Wally last??
I was talking symbolically. If Aaron Marx really did believe it would be necessary to have Allgood and Jackrabbit removed permanently, and if that would mean killing them, he certainly seems to have engineered it so he himself didn’t do the killing. That’s what I meant. Whatever dreadful acts needed to have been done in the name of the greater good, Marx kept his own hands clean. I find that symbolic.
The last thing I recall Wally doing was trying to comfort Allie after the riot. I’m guessing that he’s either waiting at home or that he may have vanished in the crowd. He’s not really that tall by mutant standards.
I’m very happy that the 3 milkmaids are back streetside. I really thought they wouldn’t all come back. Until recently Holly has been presented as extremely optimistic. This view of seeing the best is probably what had kept her going since she became a mouse. Now she’s had her foundations shaken. Sleep deprived, incarcerated…. Right now she has nothing to believe in. She’s emotionally and physically wrung out. Hopefully she’ll see Wally soon.
Everyone (including me) has been asking where is Wally? What about her stepdad, Doc Chase? What is he doing? It should have been a few days since the riot. I would figure even the ones in intensive care would be stabilized or dead by now and the Doc would have an ear to the radio. Why isn’t he there?Using a softkey keyboard sucks.
If Marx had commandeered the HC, then HC = Marx. The Milk 3 had been in confinement for 1 month, and Al had said that he hadn’t been selected as foreman for the entire month he was on the HC. That implies that Marx = HC for at least 2 months. That’s close to when all of the police calls started going to Security (2 months and 18 days prior to the riot). It’s also probably about when Jake’s people started filling up Allgood’s seminar presentations, and when Velda told Allgood about how to rig the HC.So, figure that Marx = HC for 2 months plus change.
YAY!!!TheMilk3arereleased!!!.Aaron, give Holly and Wally some R + R.I’m so glad to see Holly, just let her recuperate and spend some alone time with Wally..KUTGW,Noreen
I should mention, too, that Allgood isn’t even the one that issued the arrest order on Linda. Allgood was maintaining distance from the High Council, and all communications were going through Velda. When Allgood said “let’s make an example of Linda Kowalski”, Velda probably went to Marx and said “it’s a go!” Then Marx presented “a vote” to Al, who may have been the only other person on the HC at the time, to have Linda and any accomplices picked up and detained under harsh conditions. The vote probably went 6-4 “For”, and Marx issued the arrest warrant and provided the exact wording given to the rats. Allgood was completely disconnected from the events that actually took place in his name.
