Endtown by Aaron Neathery for July 08, 2016

I am unsure I recognize anybody. Maybe the bystander who was shot through the radio during the revolting developments. Is that Li’l Aaron, or maybe Erin, Marx?

Wow….. At least they’re all off the street, but now what?

I notice one human type on the far right.

I also notice a woman near the front with a baby, and the baby is of a different specie.

I can’t help but feel concerned about the elephant in the room.

Top right, under the elephant’s trunk. Is that Maude? Maggart or Hereford or something? I thought Maude had more prominent horns, but this one is kind of out of focus, I think.

Aha! mid-right centre: A female shark with a head of hair. Her name is Audrey Frobisher. She was in the story very briefly in one of the earliest strips. She was in the audience at the memorial for Hank Stillwater. (One of the bits of knowledge I got from being a Patreon supporter.)

The elephant looks nervous…..just noticed the mouse who just walked in.

On the right near the wall may be another human.

Any familiar faces among the crowd?

Can’t help but notice they all seem to have clothes that fit, including a huge elephant and a tiny bird with a collar and tie. How?

Duck: “Told you there’s no room in the inn. And we don’t even have a manger this time.”

The reason there aren’t many familiar faces in this lineup could be that this isn’t proto-Endtown we’re looking at…it’s another shelter, one that’s going to fail, with Holly and Doc among the few survivors.

That must be a mighty odoriferous room with that many different animal scents in one confined space. At least I assume that they inherit the characteristic smell of the animal they became. Even if they retained their human body odors, that would still be an assault on your nose with that many bodies in that room.

Mister Neathery, today’s strip is a feast for the eyes and minds.

This flashback is getting confusing . If I had just started i won’t know that this is a off shot of the story line.That huan male looks like max to me

Anybody notice what could be “Poncho” from Pooch Cafe standing just to the left of the door?

I think this is just a proto holding area with the first refugees from Hillside. A lot (or even all) of these people may not find their way to Endtown at all. There were other mutant colonies besides Endtown, and a lot of them got wiped out by Topsiders. The cities above have not yet been reduced to dust.

Something tells me it’s all happening at the zoo…
