Buy used, donate when you are through with it, so someone else can buy it used. Good Will can even use stained or torn clothing. Paper companies use them to make paper. And, they make bales of clothes to send to third world countries, where the stain that makes the shirt unacceptable for work will be totally fine for the guy who is going to wear it there. Habitat for Humanity has Restores where you can donate pretty much anything- bathtubs, left over plumbing parts, etc/ What isn’t used in a house being built is sold so they can buy what isn’t donated. And, you can find furniture, or the flooring or wall paper you need for your project at 10% of what it costs retail.
