Boy says, "Getting rid of bottled water at school is a good eco club project -- in theory." Twig says, "But?..." Boy says, "But kids still get thirsty." Boy says, "Yeah." Boy says, "Were are we supposed to get a drink?"
They were recycling the plastic, so what is their beef? Drinking fountains spread germs, & a water bottle allows constant hydration. There is a hepatitis epidemic in San Diego, CA, because they no longer allow grocery stores to provide free plastic bags, so persons are bringing their own, germy bags & are spreading hepatitis.

There’s a germ spreader hanging on the wall. One of the schools in my area is installing several bottle refilling stations with UV lights.

It is better to clean and reuse the bottles than melt them down and cast new ones.
