Better to be sick of staying in than to be staying in because you’re sick.
I went through a measles quarantine with my brother when I was 7 and he was 9. Just us and mama, and we lived out in the woods back then. Daddy had to stay on the Navy base because he wasn’t included in the quarantine.
I don’t remember how long we were stuck, my brother and I were too sick to care for most of it – he had heart/lung problems from birth and almost died – but mama had to deal with it all alone. She taught us how to crochet and sew and weave, she kept every book that was anywhere near age appropriate close to hand, and she never once complained or broke down in front of us.
I’m just fine with this stay-at-home and stay healthy thing, thanks.
And sorry if this seems preachy, I’m old and I remember when things like this happened before – and were taken just as seriously, lord bless us.
Measles parties => COVID-19 parties. People don’t change.
