Amazingly, there is such a book. When looked up (no, I don’t use Google) the Good Reads review says “The Bog is a fantastic book similar in vein to early Stephen King”. First published January 1, 1986 only 314 pages, a Mass Market Paperback. So there you go.
Seems that even if there was no twist, it must’ve been interesting enough for you to read it through. No way would I read 564 pages of a book that was boring.

It’s a sad thing to be disappointed in a book.

No twist in 564 pages is a shocking twist.

Sometimes a shocking twist is just a literary crutch authors rely on when they have lost … Sorry, I lost where I was going with this.

This is why I always read the last few pages first.

After a certain age shocking is often hard to come by.

A friend once recommended “The Eyre Affair”, but all the jokes went over my head. Never understood what the book was about.

Unfortunately so many books disappoint nower days. Just because someone’s famous they think they can write.
