Today is the first day of the rest of your life

I’m looking forward to my next birthday so I can stop being my current terrible age.

I still remember dial phones with numbers that didn’t have area codes. And I still have a landline. That’s how old I am…

The first time, that you remember.

@Argythree In Wisconsin the prefix wasn’t used until the 60’s. My family’s number was Emerson 4-4387 and we had a party-line. The prefix Emerson or 36 was added around 1963 so our number became 364-4387. The phone company dumped the part-line at that time too.

I get a little older every day.

Don’t have to be old. I just had a new programmable thermostat installed and the tech didn’t want anything to do with programming it. Said it was up to me. I’m a lot older than he, but I was a programmer so no big deal. I love gadget and hate them at the same time. They are a blessing and a curse as they say. Everything is an app now and I find that very annoying. You have to use the phone for appts as in this comic and that is annoying. Everyone is on the phone, but no one is communicating. Case in point, when the tech came to the house, he thought it was for a furnace cleaning, not a repair and install. Real info is drowned out by all the noise!!

I favour the term “archaic.”

For THIS lifetime anyway.
