Yeah, stealing’s okay UNTIL someone steals something of THEIRS, THEN they whine. Like the people who just got busted for millions of $$$, “Oh, we did NOT know people were putting STOLEN software on our servers.” Yeah, right, and I have some ocean front property for sale in Montana too, if you believe that. I hate thieves.
Is there a website that will let you download material on the “honor system”? Like listen now, pay later? All the “free” stuff I have seen, have some kind of string attached.
I know the point here is humor, but I have to say that the pathetic state of music today is directly related to piracy. Record companies cannot afford to take a chance on anything unique anymore so we get generic junk.
While I disagree with electronic piracy I also disagree with how it is determined what the stolen amount actually is. It seems to me that someone is figuring I had a X amount of stolen songs, each would have cost X amount therefore I had X amount stolen from me. That’s where I disagree, they are going on the assumption that EVERYONE WHO PIRATED something would have bought it otherwise, when in reality a very high percentage of those folks probably would have gone without, thus they really only had a very small percentage stolen.
I won’t even buy music anymore, why? because everytime I have to reformat or something I lose it and they make me rebuy it, therefore am I really stealing something I pirated that I previously bought more than once already?
I’m all for them going after pirates but leave the honest people alone, they are only turning them into pirates when they make it so hard to buy and keep in the first place. I also wish they used a different term because plundering, pillaging, rape and murder is nothing compared to downloading something illegally.
Folks, when your ancestors began making mix tapes, they also were considered “theft”. Music companies tried to have cassette tapes banned. Think I’m kidding? Look it up, junior.

Songs are only 99 cents each, but it gets confusing when you want to buy them for someone else.

I have them all backed up, but for some reason several of the songs say they do not have a certificate and cannot be played.

what really gets me in this one is the attention paid to detail making them look like genuine annoying teenagers.
