I think the TOE truck pun would be funnier. I think the husband not working IS a funny pun, but not the way some seem to think, in piling on, or the usual judgmental position about “what one did or didn’t do” as such a thing In this world is sad AND REAL to those in this situation….and all kinds of circumstances abound.. it wouldn’t seem funny to portray this to only poke fun at someone THAT way… --Again, the working again pun IS funny, but not the piling on…And, yes, the shoe off is a nice touch….

Have him update his skills, polish his resume, and check the help wanted ads. That may help get him working again.
