My company just got rid of the cubicles early this year, built out a new office that had all of us packed in closely on desks next to each other with little separation. “Better communication” for engineers that spend 95% of their time working independently. Oh, and they saved a lot of money on floor space . . . until the pandemic hit. Now our nice brand new office is empty and has really no options to make it usable in a post covid world. Nice savings . . .

now with all of us working from home, that’s an even more scary situation…when one’s email doesn’t work does that mean we are no longer an employee???

If the company is located in NYC, it most likely will go out of business thanks to Cuomo’s never ending lockdown.
