Consisting of doggie biscuits and…..mimosas?

I had some friends whose dog would wake them exactly at 6 am every day. They couldn’t understand how she knew what time it was. Then they realized that, because their water heater was on a timer that shut off a bedtime and on at 6 am, when she heard the “click,” that was her cue to go wake mommy and daddy.

Dog have clues for their timing. If I start to read, it’s time to chase, if I watch TV, it’s time to go outside, if I glance at my computer, it’s time to bark at the front door, if I fall asleep, it’s time for a poke in the neck with a wet nose,….

I feed the dog first thing to get it over with. He never complains.

And the dog says, “watch for landmines when you get up.”

The operative verb here being “try”, pardner.

My dog is 14. I have to roust him out of the sack.

I beg to differ — dogs know exactly what time it is – they just hope you’re willing to go along with it! I haven’t slept in past 5:45 in months COVID induced dog walking every day by 6:15…and again at 8 -9 depending on how ridiculously hot it still is outside…(and yes, they’re house dogs..)

Ah, yes, the old, “I decided, and now I’m claiming that ‘we agreed’.”

Replace the brown dog with a black cat and you have taken a scene out of my life.
