Elly: Do you think I need to lose weight, John? Wouldn't I look better if I lost say.. 10 pounds? What's wrong? Howcome you don't answer me?
John: Don't rush me... My entire future is at stake!
Repeat after me: “You don’t need to lose an ounce. You are gorgeous. But if YOU choose to lose some weight, I’ll support you in your diet, even though it would mean less of you for me to love.”If that fails, look down and say, “Why do I try to answer questions where I have no chance of being right,” then slowly look up, smiling, and say, “Darling, I really love you, as I always have, and as I always will.”If you are still being punished for being “wrong”, hang it up. You are in a mine field with no map and no escape path . . . .
