Elizabeth: How was Grandma when you saw her, April? April: OK, I guess... But it was scary. Elizabeth... Grandma Marian never looked old before - she just looked, you know...like Grandma! But, this time, she looked different. Elizabeth: How did she look? April: Like she was getting smaller and smaller ... as if she was going to disappear.
I felt the same way the last time I saw my mom. She had never really looked ‘old’ until then.
