John: Hah! When I was 16, I went to my first all night party. - Don't know how I kept my folks from finding out! Elly: I think I was 18. At 4 a.m., we all went down to English Bay and ran in the sand - barefoot! Remember our first New Year's Eve together, John? It was on the Toronto Island ferry! John: We were both students... and I was crazy about you. The next year, the party was at the frat house. - What a brawl! Elly: I'm surprised you remember it!! John: We were married by the following year. Elly: Uh-huh. We went to "The Crow's Nest" and danced 'til the sun came up! John: Remember when we had our own party? Elly: 16 people came, and all we could afford was chips and beer! John: Then there was the time we took Michael with us. Elly: He was so tiny. We put him in a basket and he slept through the whole thing. John: Man, we've seen some wild and crazy New Years' Eves! Elly: And survived the mornings after. John: But now, after almost 25 years together, we've discovered that those all-night celebrations aren't nearly as meaningful as a quiet evening alone! Elly: Right! John: 'Cause neither of us can stay awake past 10!! Elly: Snorggg.
New Year’s Eve is overrated.
