John: Your wife has moved out?! Man: There's been someone else for quite a while - someone she works with. She rented and furnished an apartment with him. Last week, she packed her things and left. If I think about it, the signs were everywhere. But... I never suspected a thing. She always had excuses - and I believed everything she said! John: It's easy to lie to an honest guy.
How did he never suspect a thing, when he had previously told Elizabeth that he “had no home” and that Therese didn’t love him? And asked Elizabeth to “wait for him” implying that he would get divorced?
