You can complain about your lot in life, or make something of it. Yeah, these are all historical comics and she is making an old point, but you can always change your destiny, too. Your life doesn’t have to be mediocre. You cannot change what life throws at you, only in how you react to it and do something about it.
You can whine, or you can do the hard thing: teach your children some responsibility for their own things. Try putting Michael’s things where he can’t find them, and when HE complains, say, “If I have to put them up, YOU won’t be able to find them. If you want to know where they are, YOU put them away.” And if that doesn’t work, get rid of the skates!
That method is MUCH more effective than whining.

Always good to see a comic strip where the child and dog cower in fear from a screaming mother. You can tell from their reaction, this situation hasn’t always ended with mom hugging them on the couch.
I’d say that she doesn’t get that angry that often, and so they were scared to see her like that. And I doubt she would hug them if she didn’t feel badly about losing it in front of them.

What bothered me more were the women who meant all of those, but called it mental abuse - because I was really abused…

But to not let them, you have to feel pretty sure of yourself. She did the most important thing, said sorry and showed them she loved them.

Eh, why bother to hang it up when I’m just going to wear it again tomorrow anyway? (It’s also why I only make my bed when I change the sheets!) ;)
