and he was much thinner then!!!
Weren’t we all. :)
Santa didn’t have credit cards and home equity lines of credit back then.
Come to think of it, in many cases he no longer has those tools today.
Funny how things come full circle!
Which usually meant that the kids were more grateful.
Ahh the good old days. Can’t bring ‘em back, just go forward.
Back then, we were happy to receive one toy and one piece of clothing other than the bare basics.
Stateside, he was even less generous. For one thing, he only took white kids on his lap.
Come to think of it, maybe north of the border he only took anglophones on his lap.
Hi vldazzle: Absolutely right and, if you were REALLY lucky or REALLY having a good year, an orange and a small piece of chocolate in your stocking. The smell of oranges at Christmastime still brings back many good memories.
You’ll shoot your eye out kid!!!
When did Santa’s elves stop making toys, and start buying them?
Merry Christmas to you and yours…
Reminds me of a joke, goes something like this:
Old guy #1: When I was a kid, we were so poor, we ate dirt.
Old guy #2: You had dirt? Luxury!
I’ve sent this to my daughter who has given me 7 grandchildren.
She complained when I gave all the kids Snowmen whistle straws.
She should be grateful I didn’t set them up with a pep band!
