Lynn’s Notes: I moved Connie and Phil together and apart. Having been a single parent and knowing my brother so well, I imagined what their thoughts, conversations and mannerisms would be like. I was writing and drawing this from Northern Manitoba, and Alan lived in Southern Ontario. He would read the story six weeks after I’d submitted it – and, to his great credit, he never seriously objected to my taking such liberties with a character that everyone knew was “him”!
She loves the place and she hopes he’ll love it too. And, what better way to see how he’s different from (or the same as) the other men in her life than by seeing him in the same place she’s seen them?
Phil needs to run for the hills! Connie’s use of the words “our special place” indicates that she sees them as more than just the “friends with benefits” that he sees them as! Well, Elly tried to warn him!

Wow, Phil actually looks shocked and a little hurt… funny, he’s normally provoking that response.

Our lives are 4-dimensional: all places have a memory, and multiple slots in our experiences.
