The old #2 pencil still the best. But I thought schools have the electric sharpeners now.

I have a sharpener passed down in the family that must now be at least 80 years old. I have it mounted in my garage for the once a year I need to sharpen a pencil. I refuse to buy an electric sharpener. Love the old fashioned kind. And yeah, I used to love sharpening my pencils in school. Do schools still have them? I assume elementary school children do not write with pens.

The older we got, the thinner the pencil! Ad, in 5th grade, we were each given a fountain pen (it used pre-filled, disposable ink cartridges). I still have and use mine from 1965.

FYI: it’s graphite and cedar, and that company is still making pencils in the USA.

pencils are still used for test bubble sheets even for adults. I had one for huge test. What a huge waste of wood and lead for pencil.

Us boys would like to watch when certain girls sharpened pencils. It still brings a smile in my memory.
