I would like to introduce a special guest star in this comic strip and this comic strip only. It is Mr. Fold N. Table. He is here to make the joke about folding clothes work because every other time we have seen Elly folding clothes, she does it on top of the washer/dryer or in a laundry basket. Mr. Table was willing to make his appearance and waive his standard fee because he is such a fan of Lynn Johnston and her work. I think Mr. Table deserves a round of applause don’t you?
My mom set folded laundry on the stairs for us kids to bring to our rooms. We’d walk by the folded laundry for days until we finally needed something….like clean underwear!

Of course if she finished the job immediately by putting them away in the kids’ room, there wouldn’t be that frustration. Just saying…

Did the colorist read the dialogue? Why is Lizzie’s blue t-shirt yellow?

By frame two, I would think the laundry stunk…

I love to do laundry. I love to sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, fold, and put away. I could make a fortune doing other’s laundry.

My kids did their own laundry ever since they were tall enough to reach the buttons on the washer.

Lynn’s Notes:
This was a true to life scenario. I did exactly what you see here, and the only good it did was to give me a good Sunday comic strip.

This happens in department stores all the time. And it’s no less frustrating.

Finally Mom gives us our laundry the way we like it – with the chaos still incarnate!

I love that folding laundry has a distinctive sound. Onomatopoeia FTW!

The kids are old enough to put their clean folded laundry away
