The gyproc is what we call “drywall” in the States.

$ 183,000 is the easy update to $83,000 in the original version.

Yikes! I never bought a house with a price even a fourth of that.

It would be more like $483,000 in Seattle!

That IS cheap for a house, at least in many places.

We are not seeing what the whole house looks like to be able to what it is worth

cat odors…. I don’t know if this house is a “fixer-upper” or a “Burn-down-and-start-over”.

Yes; Giving the local Fire Dept. some training might be in order here!

How sad that a $100,000 increase since 1989 (29 years) is low :(

17 cats. That explains the smell. Cats do not like living in overcrowded spaces and will “mark” their territory repeatedly. And a cat’s definition of overcrowding is a lot different from ours.

If I paid $183,000 for a house in Chattanooga it would probably not be a fixer upper.

Throw the carpeting out. Sand and refinish the floors. Repaint the walls. Open windows. It will work. I did this to rid my newly purchased house of 50+ years of smoke and pets.

I figured out gyproc pretty quickly, but it does make me chuckle. Little differences are funny…

Only in the large cities of Canada, have you ever watched Holmes on homes, some of the fixer ups go for almost $1,000,000 canadian.

Around here, there’s a commercial for a real estate agent’s agent who has an overbite like that.

Are you kidding me? You can knock that down to 83,000!
