Yep – she packed too early. Eventually, all boxes will be opened and repacked when the time comes to actually move. As the main packer in all the years we moved across the states, I don’t start packing until the UHaul arrived. Usually, we have the truck for 5 to 7 days, so the first day, I packed all the boxes and labeled them, starting with kitchen stuff because we planned on eating with paperware and plasticware. Packed the games, toys, decluttered stuff into trash bags that went to Goodwill. By the second day, the truck is mostly packed with furniture loaded first. The third day, we load the last of boxes that we used the last and started driving to our new home for the next 2 – 3 days. Then, unload into the new home on the 4th day, all boxes into the assigned rooms before the furniture came out, bedroom first, living room last, perhaps the next day. Then return the truck. The bedrooms took time to set up – the dimensions of the room determined the layout, putting together the beds, etc.
