I remember that time period. The boys could and probably were jerks. But the girls were definitely cruel.

I remember that period when my older daughter had boys calling on her. I used to feel sorry for some of the boys.

Big ones in the hall? Maybe by senior year.

Yup, high school girls have two male points of view, icky and dreamy. All of us in the middle are just waiting for the girls to realize they are going to have to settle for us or get cats.

And now you know how she really feels.

Popular girls can’t be bothered. Go away.

The good part is they wind up with the biggest jerks. Good for them.

Lynn’s Comments:

Today, the word “nerd” has come to mean someone with a superior mind; someone who, in the age of super computers and artificial intelligence, understands just what is going on. What one word would I use today to describe the kid that doesn’t yet fit in? I’ll give you this challenge…and, remember…there are critics out there!

She seems nice….

The behavior being exhibited by these two guys is exactly the kind that gets you a severe reprimand by the principal if not suspended these days. You simply cannot sit in the stands and drool at the cheerleaders during practice let alone follow them to their dressing room afterwards. The girls would be justified in calling for assistance because they’d be justified in feeling threatened by these two guys. Watch and see if these girls do not exit the dressing room together in a group for protection in tomorrow’s comic strip.

I told students that they had better be nice to the nerds because someday they would be their boss.

If anyone is the nerd, it would have to be Lawrence or Brian Enjo. Both seem to have far superior academic credentials than Gordon or Michael. Lawrence took the bus home. It is not shown what he did afterwards, although past strips have shown him acting responsibly, it can be assumed Lawrence got to work on his homework. Michael and Gordon have pissed away their time on this and have yet to get started on their daily academic responsibilities.
