Don’t worry too much, Tracey. Gordon is still too wrapped up in Allyson to give you another thought. Lynn sure drew Martha as a girl in love with her image in the mirror. I was more discreet with applying make up when I was young. I waited til there was nobody in the restroom before I quickly re-applied mascara or lipstick. I see girls today do those things in front of people, while talking, in the middle of a crowd, etc. Sort of announcing to the world her face is artificial. Never understood this kind of behavior. The only people who saw me apply makeup was my mom, my husband and college roommates who shared bathroom with me in a dorm suite.
I find it awfully depressing that she feels she needs a boyfriend to go out. I didn’t have a boyfriend till I was at Uni, but from around fifteen I went out with my friends all the time and never lacked for fun.
Ironic that this strip is in 1991. In Russia, teenagers were bravely marching for freedom and burning Soviet flags. In Canada, Michael and Gordon are whining about dates and ignoring their studies.

Just enjoy the movie and hug good by. Friends hug all the time. It’s good for you.

I’m glad Martha understands the rules. Anyone you’ve known and hung out with since you were six, is someone you must spend the rest of eternity with.

Dear Gord. Can’t we still be friends?

Tracey should tell Gordon what she just told Martha. They are on the same wavelength but just don’t know it.
