Darn right.

“Do you think your mom’s right? Do you think she has some kinda power over us?”

Someone has power over Dawn and Elizabeth, but it is not just Candace.

The girls have been spending time since lunch all the way to leaving school at the end of the day talking about what Elly Patterson told Elizabeth about Candace. It would appear that Elly has some kind of power over them. Elly told Elizabeth that Candace had power over her, and it made Elizabeth feel like a dweeb. She changed Elizabeth’s entire day just by giving her that lecture about Candace.

I think it is fairly safe to say that everything Dawn is saying about Candace could just as easily be said about Elly. Both women have power over Dawn and Elizabeth. The only question left is “Who will win?”

Or only if you respond.

As a life long outlier I DO have to ask…is it THAT hard to ignore the vibes your friends are giving out saying that you should be more like them????

Where was she when I was being bullied in the tenth grade. 1954 and it still hurts.

The power of Candace is that she is brutally and thoughtlessly honest. She says exactly what is on her mind with no hindrance or hesitation… probably because there is so little else in there.

Suddenly, Elizabeth is a wise old sage (yeah right)…

or follow what they say.

Don’t worry. Candace feels worse about herself than you two ever will.

We are all “sheeple” in some way to someone. Pick another herder if you’re not happy.

Good girl, Liz! You’re getting it now…

Only if you take her comments to heart.

Looks like Liz is about to learn that some people exalt themselves (in their own minds) by diminishing others.

And girls you are listening.

Just like lame stream media. Only if we listen

So they’ll ignore her, and then Candace will tell people they’re uncool snobs and bag on them directly. It’s a very old playbook.

ONLY if you LISTEN.

I learned to ignore people who only felt powerful if they could make others feel bad. My teacher was my sister.

The entire Social Media business is built on the idea that people will listen to those they don’t know and will never meet.

The desire for and wielding power over others is not good thing.

When I would tell my mother about what other kids were saying about me, she would always advise, “Just consider the source.” That’s good advice.

And as we conclude our story,Dawn’s ears are still frozen solid.

Being a loner I could never listen to classmates. Bullied all the way through high school. Now it doesn’t matter

An “AHA” moment!

People were cruel in school. It seems that some people were lucky enough and blessed with looks, money and friends of all kinds and made it very well in life whereas the rest of us were lucky enough to be serfs. It seems so unfair but you know that.

If someone else thinks they’re more valuable than you, then they’re probably not.

Toxic friends are No friends.

Liz is getting some good advice from Brian Enjo.

You people are too young to neglect the peer vibes.
