It only took 9 months, but John is finally living up to his threat to prevent Michael from driving the car until he pays for the gas.

What overprotective parents for Mike and daughter for Jim.

Yes, Mike- gas costs money.

“Grampa! Kick in some gas money, I’ll drive and let’s go do something!”

Put a boot in that boy’s lazy butt for letting his Grandpa do something he should already have done! Oh, I forgot, it’s child abuse to make a kid do ANYTHING that might upset him or cause him stress. Give me a break. A lot of kids today know how to hack into someone’s bank account, but have them to do some actual labor & the poor things go into withdrawals from not having their phones in their hands. Thank goodness for the ones willing to do something good for themselves and others! And I do know some GREAT young people that are VERY impressive, from how they excel in school and what they do to help others.

Explained to my 16 year grandson how his 80 year old grandpa and him both have high auto insurance premiums because we are both ‘special’ category drivers. Age discrimination!

So why is Mike a couch potato watching TV? Wouldn’t clearing the walks of snow be a money earning opportunity for Mike?

Funny how every other generation seems to agree with each other.

If it’s so cold, why is Elly outdoors bare-headed?

Maybe St. Michael can get up off his pampered, perfumed, pompous posterior and shovel all the walkways to EARN some money??

People who get exercise live longer, so let him shovel.

I don’t know whether I’d rather wear out or rust away. My time is coming.

Mike should have been out there instead of his poor, old Grandpa.

We live out in the country so I usually keep about 15 gallons of gas on hand for the garden tractor. My son used to ask me for money for fuel but then decided it was easier to ask me if I had any extra gas on hand. In his mind, since it was already paid for, it wasn’t the same as asking for gas money.

The solution is simple have Michael shovel his Grandparents walk for gas money.

Considering Elly’s father broke the ceiling during his last visit, it is a not a good idea for him to do anything. Elly’s parents are a means of destruction.

Same thoughts…different reasons.

And there you have a perfect illustration of the problem with todays shortage of wage earners!

Dad you should tell Michael go outside and work for your gas go clean off that snow.

None so blind as those who will not see……………….

Sometimes I feel that way around my wife, kids, and grandkids!

Mike should be out there shoveling that sidewalk and they should let grandpaw be active.

Elly can offer Michael a cheap alternative that reduces his carbon footprint. Just give Michael a bean burrito with extra guacamole sauce, tell him to use his skateboard, then let one rip. Michael will be out of there faster than Hunter Biden at a rehab center.

Why isn’t Mike shoveling the walk?

Elly should have been carrying Michael OUT to the sidewalk, by the arm and then brought back Grandpa.

And why should Michael be paid for doing a household chore he should have already done.

My Dad HAD to be at his store to open it. So I spent lots of time helping shovel out his car so he could get moving. Sometimes I think snow clouds in central PA breed with each other.

The kid should be out shoveling!

There was a perfect opportunity…

This is what I get for posting so late: everyone else has posited my ideas already.

The mothering instinct, across generations.

I used to be the guy on the left. Now I’m the guy on the right. In about oh, 5 years it seems.

Maybe if Michael would go clear a few walks he could earn a buck or two…

Michael can find another way by using a sled and three words: “Mush Farley, mush!”

It can be worked out by all three: John must pay social security taxes or get thrown in jail. Money paid to social security goes right to the people on it (only an idiot believes there is anything being saved), so Jim gets his social security check. Jim uses his social security to give Michael some gas cash. Michael gives the cash to John, so problem solved!

You are wrong Mike, your parents will let you do anything. You just have to pay the price like everyone else.
