“We learn better from our mistakes than we do from our successes”.

After decades of “mistakes” I can vouch for the accuracy of that quote. Still learning too.

Lesson learned Mike. Be a “people” and think for yourself and not a “sheeple” that doesn’t.;D

What a neat little lesson that takes place in a world that Lynn Johnston has total control over. In the real world, you can take it from this former kid: Stay angry.

Does anyone believe Trump’s followers “learned” from his lies??

    I kinda doubt it!!

Lesson learned, but will it stick? That’s the real question.… I’ve always maintained that in order for kids to really learn anything, you have to give them the “gift of failure”.

We ALL learn from mistakes. Even the people in the US who think they’re perfect.

Well, at least Michael got that whole 15 minutes of fame out of the way. Now he can go ahead and be extraordinary in the regular old fashion way.

Michael has learned his lesson the hard way: One “aw sh*it” can ruin all your “atta boys”.

I will make the reference…to the Battle of McMinn County. In 1946, a community in Tennesee called Athens was run by a corrupt family. You could not get a school or police job their without the family’s approval. When elections came around, the corrupt family attempted for everyone to forget about them. A militia marched on the town, forcing the sheriff to bring out the ballot box and have elections. That is only time in American history a government was successfully overthrown by force.

And in Panel #4, Jon does an excellent job in reassuring Michael that that’s growing up is all about.

Ahh.. the trials and tribulations of a teenage boy. Great example of why families need a Father in them.

Well done Lynn, a lesson here for many of the commenters as well as for Michael. Thankfully Michael will learn from the lesson, some of the others, well that’s a different matter.

You always learn by the mistakes you make in life. I’m glad his dad was wise enough to know that and to comfort his son.

ON TOPIC: John truly is such a great dad. He really loves his kids! A few comics ago it looked like he wanted to THROTTLE Mike, but it passed quickly.

Folks – Why are y’all bringing politics into this strip? I have read the “Comments Policy”, and I don’t think this is even allowed. People, it is only a comic strip about a family and their tribulations, good or bad. This one is a learning experience for all. So, lighten up. Put your politics on another platform.

John, if it was so good for Mike to learn this, WHY THE HELL DID YOU BURN RUBBER TO THE PROTEST AND DRAG HIM AWAY LIKE YOU WERE ARRESTING HIM!?

Besides, all you accomplished was to hammer Mike into thinking he was wrong when the buses still aren’t being fixed and they cost more to ride!

An old letter recovered from 1968:

    Dear Charles,

I have not heard from Roxy for two weeks now, and I hope she is safe. Last time I talked to her she said she was headed to Louisiana to see you. You sure knew what you were saying when you said every revolution has its costs, as our marriage was one of those costs. But for God’s sake Charles, I am begging you not to let our little girl be another sacrifice toyour cause.

Please write back (or call me),

John says that he is glad that today happened because Michael learned from it. Of course the real reason is that Michael has admitted his dad was right about something, and that is what makes it worthwhile to John.

Nothing like someone spoiling a perfectly good read through the day’s comics by throwing their unsoliciated, abrasive and divisive partisan political “commentary” into the comments.
