Connie seems to be amazed that Sera knows what she is doing and how quickly she caught on. That certainly saves her from the embarrassment of having to teach her dog how to give birth to puppies. Notice, for the squeamish readers’ sake, Connie is not describing what Sera had to do to those umbilical cords.

Look at Elle’s shocked expression hearing Connie calling the umbilical cord belly buttons, but that’s the truth! The cord falls off and the remains turn into either an outie or an innie.

The world is so amazing when we’re young! It’s still amazing just not in a good way most of the time.

By now you’d think April would have been taught that “gots” is not what to say.

Sounds like one where Michael and Elizabeth were younger and in Sunday School. This was B.A. (Before April). When the teacher says they face an uncomfortable subject: Hell, Michael thinks it is awesome, though Elizabeth is spooked about her possible future.

    Later while riding home.

Elly: What did you kids learn today?

    Michael: Hell!

    Elly: Michael!!

Michael: No, I am serious. Hell is a part of Bible study.

John: He’s got a point, Elly.

Michael: I sure as hell can’t talk about Hell unless I can say the word Hell, right? Hell, Hell, Hell, Hell, Hell, Hell…

Elly: Michael! You are no longer in Sunday school. Stop swearing.

Would Elly still congratulate Sera if the puppies were used?

Yes, they do, April. So do cats.

It is good to see there are adults in this world that have the courage to be honest with kids.

It is good that we are done with the story arc of Elly being butthurt about Michael writing to Rhetta.
