Working for “free” isn’t a good idea.

The first appearance of Lily Petrucci. She is an interesting choice. The real life owner of Gulliver’s looks more like Moira Kinney the employee.

Just for the day? For free? Heck no! You need to get paid for your work Elly, even if it’s only an hour or two. Besides you want a permanent job, not just to fill in for the day.

I would say hire her right now!

This might be my lack of experience talking, but wouldn’t it be awkward if some random person came in and offered to work for free in your store just like that for fun? The thought is kind, of course, but still, it feels like the kind of thing where you’re being sort of a nuisance. I mean, you don’t know this person, they haven’t been trained properly and any mistake they make will reflect on your business…

This could be the beginning of a beautiful partnership!

Elly is eligible for unemployment and food stamps. She also gets single-payer healthcare and she does not pay a penny in tax. If she asks for a salary, she will have to pay income tax. Why in the world would Elly want to give up being a zero-liability voter?

Gives her a chance to see if she likes it and it gives them a chance to see if they like her. It’s probably only for 2 or 3 hours anyway.
