From Lynn’s Comments: At the age of 72, I tried skipping. I figured it was something one never forgets how to do. I took the rope and…nothing! I couldn’t do one proper jump. It was as if I’d never learned, and with all honesty…I did what April is doing in this panel. I started by stepping over the rope!
This reminds me of a clip on America’s Funniest Home Videos where a toddler was trying to use a hula hoop. He held the hoop around him, dropped it on the the ground, then started gyrating his hips like Elvis. As for me, I never was able to keep that thing going. I guess I’m not hip to the hula hoop.
Another reason to be grateful to Elly; all those beans are the right food for April’s body. But there are grounds for other choices in veganism, such as liver and onions. In that case it would be like this:
Elizabeth: April, dinner! Mom made liver and onions.
Elizabeth is showing physical growth with the jump rope, but Edgar is the one who has really grown. For a puppy barely 2 months old, he has gotten pretty big.

Might need a shorter rope.

The dog had better stand clear of the swing.

They called it jumping rope in NJ. Is skipping rope Canadian?

We called in jump rope. I could never get more than one o two in before I tangle if it was going fwd. Backwards over my head I could go all day.

Take it easy and slow at first – one or two steps at a time.
Pretty soon you can make it one or two skips at a time.

Practice makes perfect, April. Soon you’ll be jumping like a pro!

Skipping is when you don’t show up for your court hearing

April is jumping for joy over the Chiefs win. Not so good for Lawrence. His kind hangs out in San Francisco.
One day Elizabeth will teach First Nations children the Tomahawk chop.

“Not last night, but, the night before. Twenty four robbers, came a knockin’ at my door.
I have a little sister and she loved the jump rope. She’d be with her chums and they’d call out the rhymes. That’s the only one I remember.

Next April should try running after a chicken.
