We have come full circle on April’s 2-week journey into getting affection from her family. Elizabeth who at the beginning would get upset with April coming in her room, now lets April sleep in her bed without pushing her away. Yay for April. It was tough to get that affection, but she finally did it.

Notice that April never pestered Mike at all during this entire arc. Either there’s a lock on his bedroom door (as there should also be on Elizabeth’s), or she knows he’ll move out and stay with Gordon until he returns to college—and that would really make her mother mad!

There were 7 of us growing up. Aged 2 to 17. (Two families and a foster child) Every one of us had our own bed. Downstairs in the basement we had a huge pull out sofa bed. Before morning most of us would be in that bed. Those not in that bed usually moved to another room. Parents and grandparents never knew where they would find in the mornings.

April has progressed from constantly pestering Liz to loving her big sister…

Usually the little monster gets on my nerves, but this was sweet. BTW how did this conversation get to talking about genders?

Sometimes you just have to “take” your “lumps”.

My sister used to do this to me; and her bed was right next to mine, in the same room! I always waited til she fell asleep, got up, then went & slept in her bed. I love my sister.
