Swaddles will work for babies who want them to work. Mine were little escape artists. It didn’t matter how tight I wrapped them. I even tied off the ends once instead of tucking them in. Nope. None lasted more than 5 minutes, average was about 30 seconds.
My daughter was born breech with her little feet up by her shoulders. Her delivery/neonatal nurse was a Russian emirgee who taught us how to swaddle her (just like in the Old Country) with her legs in a more normal position (Спасибо, мила!) Swaddling worked very well for calming & comforting her.

“Colic” is when your baby cries. A LOT. More than that. No, still more.
