Peter: If I get straight A's, will you take me out for a big steak dinner? Roger: Sounds fair. Paige: If I get straight A's, will you buy me those shoes I really want? Roger: It's a deal. Jason: If I get straight A's, will you buy me a video game? Roger: You already get straight A's. Sometimes I think if I were really smart, I'd be a little lecss smart.
When my sister was in high school, my parents offered her money for A’s. Out of a nice thing called fairness, they made me the same offer – despite the fact that, like Jason, I was a straight A student throughout school.
I don’t know how much my sister got, but I was sure paid a lot.
