The crossword app on my phone has a puzzle called “Jack of all trades”! The theme clues are based on different interpretations of the word “Jack” (e.g. Rob someone’s cash). I guess it’s another way to play “Jacks”.

Reminds me of the old Infocom Text adventure game "Nord and Bert Couldn’t Make Head or Tail of It " (yeah the comics Nord and Bert). Part of which is a section “Play Jacks” where each clue is a reference to a “Jack” of some kind. Jason and Marcus are probably well aware of the game.
