Marcus: Mr. Director, sir? About this script? Jason: It leaves some things out. Director: Boys, "The Lord of the Rings" is over 1,000 pages long. If we tried to capture every tiny detail, we'd end up with a 40-hour film. Who wants that?! Marcus: Figures our mouths would be too full of droll to answer. Jason: Waigt! Comlg baglk!
40-hr films of both LOTR and HP would be fantastic! However, since I also like the current adaptations of each, I would probably alternate between the long and short versions. I do that with my Jane Austen adaptations as well (I have three “Emma”s now, two “Mansfield Park”s, and many more than that, and I watch a different adaptation depending on my mood….) Of course, I recognize I’m not posting to the Jane Austen crowd at the moment…. Time for me to reread LOTR - it has been a while….
