All of her relatives and close friends knew NOT to call my Grandma between noon and four pm: she would watch the local news and then HER soaps. This was in the 60s-70s – rotary dial phones, party lines, and no such thing as an answering machine. If it WAS an actual emergency, you called, let it ring, hung up, and repeated twice more. That was the ONLY way to get here away from “The Doctors”, “General Hospital”, “As the World Turns”,“The Guiding Light”, et al. Anyone who did not know the code was just trying to sell her something. After 4pm, she reverted to human form. Oh, and do not call on Saturdays between 7 and 8 pm, lest you incur the wrath of Gra’MOM for interrupting “The Lawrence Welk Show”.
Jason does need to spend more time outside then inside the house during good weather, especially since it means that any trouble he causes, won’t destroy the house itself.
When I was a kid, we were always herded outside every nice day during the summer months. Being that I would rather read or play video games, I always hated that.
My mom and dad, esp. MY MOM, loved Lawrence Welk. I grew up with it. As for the soaps, BEEN WATCHING OR CHECKING ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES SINCE DAY 1 WHEN I WAS A KID! NOT AT ALL ASHAMED! I will dread the day it ends! Also at one point watched ALL of Another World until it was cancelled, and General Hospital until my favorite characters left one by one. Reality?? shows,

Hack the banks and buy yourself a Home-Entertainment System… and blame your Mom.

I know she seems like a hypocrite, but I’m okay with this. Miss one episode, and you’ll have a Dickens of a time understanding what’s going on.
