I once was judging for a special award at a regional science fair where one junior high student had carefully assembed by hand a molecular model of ice. The first judge had given this student a rating of “Superior”, so the student was eligible to continue on to State Science Day. And sure enough, for every hydrogen atom in this model, there were two oxygen atoms! All I could do was gently point out to the student that a correction was needed before presenting at State!

I want to see him do DNA.

The word diagram is a noun, the teacher should be asking Jason to draw a diagram.

I would have complimented Jason on his ingenuity and accuracy… and then confiscated the gum

I remember having to stick my gum on the end of my nose until recess… ☺

Really no room for creativity in our public schools, is there?

This is why Jason’s my favorite FT character: He has actual skills. The kind I can be proud of, as opposed to Peter’s appetite.
