That said there’s leeway when it comes to scheduling the flight sooner, especially by that much. Roger could hold them accountable because they’re supposed to contact the passengers about such a difference.
A couple of years ago we were waiting for our flight, never mind covid there were many other airline things that could get you kicked off a plane, my wife and I were not giving up our seat. The flight was over booked by 4 seats and all passengers were checked in. The poor girl at the check-in desk was told to make it work. 2 people that were not in the area were called 2x, no show, so the over booking was now 2 seats. They were asking anyone in the waiting area to give up their seats, the price was 2000 in cash each plus hotel. We had a connecting flight so too bad for us.
I am not a frequent flyer, so I don’t get the concept at all from these comments. It seems simple to me – A plane has 120 seats, you sell 120 tickets. Why would they sell 130 tickets? Are there that many no shows? I would doubt it. I’ll bet the front desk employees aren’t crazy about this policy either – always having to clean up these messes.
Travelled across country with a VP from my company. We got bumped. That executive moved fast and deliberate. Had the airline staff hopping getting us a new flight ASAP. Most passengers, including me, were resigned to just wait. Very impressive….

I’m not sure many airlines could get away with taking off 7 and a half hours early. What if there were passengers with connecting flights?

Comparing the first and third panels, it seems that the surprise woke him right up.
Which is just as well, considering how much a cup of coffee, decent or not, will cost him at the airport.

Hey look on the bright side. You’re not stuck at the airport for 4.5 hours now.

I had a friend in Burlington Iowa getting ready for a flight when Ozark Airlines called him. “We’ll wait for you if you can come over right now.”

Roger lucks out. He just tells his boss that the flight left 7 1/2 hours early without prior notification. He doesn’t have to go now. :)

And airlines wonder why they have such a bad reputation…

The joke fails with her use of present perfect. (not to mention the fact that the airline would have contacted HIM)
